The Apartments: This 13-storey student apartment building is in an ideal location to campus and to much of what Auckland has to offer. You will be in single, private bedrooms within a shared apartment. Typically, there are around 4-5 bedrooms per apartment. Your apartment is self-catered meaning you will have a basic kitchen and will do your own grocery shopping and cooking. Your kitchen will include cooking equipment basics, dinnerware, cutlery, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, combined oven/microwave and stovetop. Inside your bedroom, you will have a king single size bed, desk and office chair, wardrobe, bookshelf and wall-mounted, heated towel rail. TEAN also includes a linen pack for all students (sheets, duvet and cover, pillow and pillow case, and a towel). There are two bathrooms in each apartment. In the shared space in your apartment, you will have a TV, lounge chairs, dining room table and chairs.
Location: WSA is located right in the heart of the city. It’s only a short walk to bustling Queen Street and the waterfront area.

The Apartments: Set just on the outskirts of campus, Carlaw Park Student Village offers the convenience of location and modern design. It was built in 2014 and offers a variety of different self-catered apartment set-ups – though students will likely live in a four-bedroom (singles), one bathroom with kitchen and common space. The bedrooms will include a single bed, desk, chair, wardrobe and wall-mounted heater. The linen pack, which TEAN purchases for you, consists of: pillow/pillow case, two sheets, duvet/ duvet cover, bath towel, face cloth and a laundry bag. The shared kitchen, will be furnished with a fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils and crockery. Common space will have a TV, couches, coffee table as well as dining seats with a bar-level counter. Carlaw Park grounds feature a basketball hoop, BBQ area, large study room and a music practice room (with piano).
Location Carlaw Park Student Village is located adjacent to the Auckland Domain (the city’s oldest park). You’re also only a 15-20 minute walk from bustling Queen Street and a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Parnell.

Housing Option 2: Parnell Student Village

The Apartments: Parnell Student Village is a 2-storey and 3-storey timber clad complex that is composed of four-, five-, six-, and eight-bedroom self-catered flats. Each will have a single bedroom furnished with bed, desk, chair, heater, wardrobe, mirror and trash bin, but shared bathroom (one or two depending on flat size). The linen pack, which TEAN purchases for you, consists of: pillow/pillow case, two sheets, duvet/ duvet cover, bath towel, face cloth and a laundry bag. The kitchen, which is shared, will be furnished with a fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils and crockery. Common space will have a TV, couches, dining table and dining chairs. Parnell grounds feature a large grass field for outdoor activities, volleyball net and BBQ area. These are older units so students should expect basic student accommodation.
Location Parnell is a suburb of Auckland, so Parnell Student Village is about a 10 minute walk to cafes, shops, markets, etc. It is further away from the ‘downtown’ area of Auckland at about a 35 minute walk or 20 minute bus ride.

Housing Option 3: UniLodge Whitaker

The Apartments: UniLodge Whitaker is a modern high-rise apartment complex that is comprised of 270 single studio apartments each with their own ensuite bathroom and small kitchenette. Each private studio comes with bedroom furniture including a single bed, desk and chair, wardrobe, a wall mounted television and wireless internet connection. The kitchenette includes a small fridge, kettle, microwave, toaster and cooking hobs (small stove top) along with a basic kitchen pack including cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The linen pack, which TEAN purchases for you, consists of: pillow/pillow case, two sheets, duvet/ duvet cover, bath towel, face cloth and a laundry bag. UniLodge Whitaker also has common space which includes a games room, small onsite gym, study rooms and a communal lounge. There is also a large communal kitchen and outdoor BBQ for group activities.
Location: UniLodge Whitaker is centrally located with bustling Queen Street only a 10 minute walk from the apartment complex. The Auckland Domain (oldest park in Auckland) is also within walking distance at around 20 minutes.

The Apartments: These units are individual houses scattered on the outskirts of campus. Each house ranges in location, size and quality. These units vary in degree of upgrade and modernity but all have a lot of character. Please know that we have no control on the type of unit you receive but you should expect basic student accommodation. They are very basic and very much ‘lived in’ student flats. You will have a single, private bedroom within a shared flat. Your flat is self-catered meaning you will have a full kitchen and will do your own grocery shopping and cooking. Your kitchen will include fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery. Inside your bedroom, you will have a single size bed, desk and office chair, wardrobe, heater and pinboard. TEAN also includes a linen pack for all students (sheets, duvet and cover, pillow and pillow case). In the shared space in your flat, you will have a TV, lounge chairs, book shelves, notice board, communal phone, dining room table and chairs.
Location: The flats are in a residential area near campus. It’s about a 15 minute walk down hill to get into the Wellington central business district where shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes are plentiful.

Housing Option 2: Everton Hall

Commute: Approximately 5 minute walk to Kelburn campus

The Apartments: These fully furnished five bedroom flats are in apartment style buildings and have recently undergone some refurbishments over the last few years. In Everton, you will have a private room within a shared apartment. In your bedroom, you will have a bed, study desk and chair and wardrobe. TEAN also arranges linen packs for all students. These are self catered apartments meaning there is a basic kitchen and you will be responsible for purchasing your own groceries and preparing your own meals. Students will have to pay for wifi and electricity monthly and this is not included in the TEAN housing fee.
Location: Everton is a 5 minute walk to the Kelburn (main campus) and a 10-15 minute walk down to central business district of Wellington.

Note: Everton Hall has limited availability and while we will submit your preferences, final allocations are at the discretion of the Victoria University of Wellington accommodation office.

No. There are cafes around campus you can purchase meals from but it would be an out of pocket expense each time. We find most students prefer to buy their groceries and cook for themselves as it gives them more autonomy and control over their costs.

Is there internet included?
Wifi is included at University Hall. If you opt to live in Everton, you should expect to pay around NZ$40 per month for wifi.

How do I do my laundry?
Typically there are washing machines and dryers in each flat. If your flat is not fit out with a washer and dryer, you will have access to communal laundry facilities.

The Apartments: The Cube is an apartment building located on the edge of Massey’s campus, situated on a main thruway. Each apartment has a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living area with dining table, chairs, couch, TV stand and coffee table. Bedrooms have a double bed, a wardrobe, a desk, chair, and pin board. TEAN provides a bedding pack, which includes: duvet cover, sheet set, pillow, two towels and a mattress protector. An events room is located on site that included a pool table, ping pong, large TV, and bean bags.
Location: Students are within about a 10 minute walk to the main area of Wellington where there are shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

Is there a meal plan I can purchase?

Wifi is not included in the TEAN housing fee as The Cube requires students to set this up and pay for the internet independently upon arrival. The Cube will provide information to students on how to access their wifi once they move in.

The Apartments: The newest halls on Massey’s campus, these halls are ideal for students looking for a meal plan option. There is a shared common room and bathrooms as well as a small kitchenette consisting of snack-making facilities. The rooms are all single-occupied and are furnished with: bed, drawers, noticeboard, wardrobe, shelving, desk, chair, heater and trash bin. The TEAN-provided bed linen pack has: sheets, pillow, pillowcase, mattress protector, fleece blanket, and quilt. Laundry facilities are available in a neighboring accommodation building.

Please note: meal plans are not included in the TEAN housing fees and will be invoiced directly by Massey or TEAN after arrival on campus.
Location: Rehab Road – While you will be walking distance to campus, Massey is about 20 minutes via public transport to The Square which is the main downtown area of Palmerston North. There are bus stops on Massey’s campus that run regularly.

Laundry facilities are available in a neighboring accommodation building. No meal plan is needed with this accommodation as there is a full kitchen.

The Apartments: Atawhai units are a part of a residential-like environment, sitting atop a walking path that is lined with trees and natural beauty. The Apartments: The self-catered option at Lincoln are stand alone houses in which you’ll have a single, private room within a shared house. These are very basic student accommodations. There are typically four students to a house. You’ll have a full kitchen and will purchase your own groceries and prepare your own meals. In your room you will have a bed, study desk and chair, and wardrobe. TEAN will also provide you with a linen pack. The common spaces will include lounge seating and a television.
Location: You will be located within walking distance to campus and about a 20 minute walk to Lincoln’s (township) main road where there are restaurants, cafes and shops. You’ll only be about a 10-15 minute walk from the New World Supermarket. It takes about an hour to get to downtown Christchurch via public transport from Lincoln.

Housing Option 2: Fully Catered (no kitchen – full meal plan)
Management: Lincoln University
Commute: Approximately 5 minute walk to middle of campus
Price: $3,805 + meal plan (approximately US $1,800)
The Apartments: There are a few different halls in which you may be allocated. Each hall is fairly similar in that you’ll have your own bedroom with shared bathroom facilities. You will then have access to the dining hall where your meals will be served. Within each hall there are also common spaces and a shared simple kitchenette area which includes a kettle and microwave. It’s worth noting that dishes are not included in the fully catered option since your meals are provided in the dining hall. In your room you will have a bed, wardrobe and study desk and chair. TEAN will provide you with a linen pack.

Please note: The meal plan is not included in the TEAN housing fee and if you are allocated this option, you will be invoiced separately after you’ve arrived in New Zealand. You can expect this cost to be around US$1,800. The fully catered meal plan includes 3 meals per day during the week and 2 meals per day on the weekends. There is also toast and fruit available all day, 7 days a week.
Location: You will be located within walking distance to campus and about a 20 minute walk to Lincoln’s (township) main road where there are restaurants, cafes and shops. The Apartments: Ilam Apartments sit just across the road from campus. It’s a complex of several student housing buildings. You will have a private, single room within a shared apartment. The apartments are self-catered meaning there is a kitchen and you will be responsible for purchasing groceries and cooking your meals. The kitchen is quite basic but includes a refrigerator, cutlery and crockery, stove top, microwave oven and shelving. In your bedroom you will have a single bed, wardrobe, study desk and chair. TEAN also provides linen packs so you will have a pillow, pillowcase, sheets and a duvet. In the common space you will have dining table and chairs, lounge seating and a television. A special perk of these apartments is that there is a cleaning service that comes through every two weeks to clean the flat. There is also a large communal space for all residents where events will be held throughout the semester, and is a great place to be social or study.
Location: You will be within walking distance to campus, the health centre, some shops and restaurants and a grocery store. The apartments are also located very close to a bus stop that can take students into the downtown area and to more restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. This is about a 25 minute ride via public transport.

Can I request to live with my friends?
Yes. We would ask that you indicate on your housing preference form who you would want to live with. We will then submit that to the University on your behalf. Is there a meal plan I can purchase?
No…well sort of. You can opt to purchase a meal plan through the university directly. Your meals would be at the University Hall dining hall. There are options in which you can purchase the meal plan with 3 meals per day or dinners only. This is an additional cost and will be invoiced to you directly by the university or by TEAN once you are on campus. We find most students prefer to buy their groceries and cook for themselves as it gives them more autonomy and control over their costs.

Is there internet included?
Yes, you will have wifi throughout your accommodation however it is not unlimited. You will be allocated 100GB per month. If you run out of this amount, you can top up for $2 per GB.

The Apartments: Known as Uni Flats, these fully furnished stand alone houses and apartment complexes are all unique – varying in size and location. Most flats have anywhere from 4 to 8 bedrooms. There are some older houses that have been renovated and some newer, purpose built flats that are more of an apartment complex style. You will have a single, private bedroom within a shared flat. This housing is self-catered meaning that you will have a kitchen and you will be responsible for purchasing groceries and cooking your own meals. Included in your kitchen are the basics like cutlery, dinnerware, toaster and kettle as well as a fridge/freezer, stove/oven and microwave. In your bedroom you will have a double bed, set of drawers, study desk and a chair. TEAN arranges a linen pack to be in your bedroom for your arrival. Included in your linen pack will be a pillow, pillow case, mattress protector, fitted sheet, flat sheet, duvet and duvet cover, lightweight blanket and a towel.
Location: Located just off of the Otago campus, they are an easy walk to campus and to shops, restaurants, bars and cafes in the Dunedin octagon
