  • The Apartments: This 13-storey student apartment building is in an ideal location to campus and to much of what Auckland has to offer. You will be in single, private bedrooms within a shared apartment. Typically, there are around 4-5 bedrooms per apartment. Your apartment is self-catered meaning you will have a basic kitchen and will do your own grocery shopping and cooking. Your kitchen will include cooking equipment basics, dinnerware, cutlery, kettle, toaster, fridge/freezer, combined oven/microwave and stovetop. Inside your bedroom, you will have a king single size bed, desk and office chair, wardrobe, bookshelf and wall-mounted, heated towel rail. TEAN also includes a linen pack for all students (sheets, duvet and cover, pillow and pillow case, and a towel). There are two bathrooms in each apartment. In the shared space in your apartment, you will have a TV, lounge chairs, dining room table and chairs.

Yes, you will have included wifi in your bedroom and in common spaces. Students may also need to setup their wifi accounts with AUT prior to having access in WSA. TEAN staff will assist with this process upon arrival in Auckland.

The Apartments: Set just on the outskirts of campus, Carlaw Park Student Village offers the convenience of location and modern design. It was built in 2014 and offers a variety of different self-catered apartment set-ups – though students will likely live in a four-bedroom (singles), one bathroom with kitchen and common space. The bedrooms will include a single bed, desk, chair, wardrobe and wall-mounted heater. The linen pack, which TEAN purchases for you, consists of: pillow/pillow case, two sheets, duvet/ duvet cover, bath towel, face cloth and a laundry bag. The shared kitchen will be furnished with a fridge, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, utensils and crockery. Common space will have a TV, couches, coffee table as well as dining seats with a bar-level counter. Carlaw Park grounds feature a basketball hoop, BBQ area, large study room and a music practice room.
Location Carlaw Park Student Village is located adjacent to the Auckland Domain (the city’s oldest park). You’re also only a 15-20 minute walk from bustling Queen Street and a 10 minute walk to the shops and restaurants of Parnell.

  • The Apartments: These units are individual houses or apartment complex style buildings on the outskirts of campus. Each flat ranges in location, size and quality. These units vary in degree of upgrade and modernity, but all have a lot of character. Please know that we have no control on the type of unit you receive but you should expect basic student accommodation. They are basic and very much ‘lived in’ student flats. You will have a single, private bedroom within a shared flat. Your flat is self-catered meaning you will have a full kitchen and will do your own grocery shopping and cooking. Your kitchen will include: fridge/freezer, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, cutlery and crockery. Inside your bedroom, you will have a single size bed, desk and desk chair, wardrobe, heater and pinboard.   • The Apartments: The Cube is an apartment building located on the edge of Massey’s campus, situated on a main thruway. TEAN provides a bedding pack, which includes: duvet cover, sheet set, pillow, two towels and a mattress protector.     • Location: You will be walking distance to campus. Massey is about 20 minutes via public transport to The Square, the main downtown area of Palmerston North. There are bus stops on Massey’s campus that run regularly.

While the units each have five single bedrooms in them, the common lounge and kitchen area provide a place for socialization with roommates. The kitchen will have a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, kettle and utensils. The lounge will feature sofas, armchairs, a coffee table, dining table and chairs. Each bedroom will be furnished with bed, drawers, noticeboard, wardrobe, shelving, desk, chair, heater and trash bin. The TEAN-provided bed linen pack includes sheets, pillow, pillowcase, mattress protector, fleece blanket, and quilt. Each unit has a washing machine. No meal plan is needed with this accommodation as there is a full kitchen. 
    • Location: You will be walking distance to campus. Massey is about 20 minutes via public transport to The Square, the main downtown area of Palmerston North. There are bus stops on Massey’s campus that run regularly.

  • Housing Option 1: Self-Catered (kitchen – no meal plan)

    • The Apartments: The self-catered option at Lincoln are stand alone houses in which you’ll have a single, private room within a shared house. These are very basic student accommodations. There are typically four students to a house. You’ll have a full kitchen and will purchase your own groceries and prepare your own meals. In your room you will have a bed, study desk and chair, and wardrobe. TEAN will also provide you with a linen pack. The common spaces will include lounge seating and a television.
    • Location: You will be located within walking distance to campus and about a 20 minute walk to Lincoln’s (township) main road where there are restaurants, cafes and shops. You’ll only be about a 10-15 minute walk from the New World Supermarket. It takes about an hour to get to downtown Christchurch via public transport from Lincoln

  • Housing Option 2: Fully Catered (no kitchen – full meal plan)
    • Management: Lincoln University
    • Commute: Approximately 5-minute walk to middle of campus

    • The Apartments: There are a few different halls in which you may be allocated. Each hall is fairly similar in that you’ll have your own bedroom with shared bathroom facilities. You will then have access to the dining hall where your meals will be served. Within each hall there are also common spaces and a shared simple kitchenette area which includes a kettle and microwave. It’s worth noting that dishes are not included in the fully catered option since your meals are provided in the dining hall. In your room you will have a bed, wardrobe and study desk and chair. TEAN will provide you with a linen pack.
      • Please note: The fully catered meal plan includes 3 meals per day during the week and 2 meals per day on the weekends. There is also toast and fruit available all day, 7 days a week. 
    • Location: You will be located within walking distance to campus and about a 20 minute walk to Lincoln’s (township) main road where there are restaurants, cafes and shops. How will I apply for my housing?
For Lincoln you will need to apply for your housing online through your MyLinc portal. Please ignore any requests for payment through this website as TEAN will pay for your housing on your behalf. 

Who will I be living with?
Typically, other International/Student Abroad students but there will likely be some Kiwi students in your accommodation as well. 

Can I request to live with my friends?
Yes. We would ask that you indicate on your housing preference form who you would want to live with. We will then submit that to the University on your behalf. We cannot guarantee you will be allocated in the same flat as your friend as all allocations are at the discretion of the Lincoln University accommodation office.

The Apartments: Ilam Apartments sit just across the road from campus. It’s a complex of several student housing buildings. You will have a private, single room within a shared apartment. The apartments are self-catered meaning there is a kitchen and you will be responsible for purchasing groceries and cooking your meals. The kitchen is quite basic but does include a refrigerator, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans, stove top, microwave oven and shelving. In your bedroom you will have a single bed, wardrobe, study desk and chair. TEAN also provides linen packs so you will have a pillow, pillowcase, sheets and a duvet. In the common space you will have dining table and chairs, lounge seating and a television. There is also a large communal space for all residents where events will be held throughout the semester, and is a great place to be social or study.
Location: You will be within walking distance to campus, the health centre, some shops and restaurants and a grocery store. The apartments are also located very close to a bus stop that can take students into the downtown area and to more restaurants, shops, bars and cafes. This is about a 25-minute ride via public transport.

Is there a meal plan I can purchase?
No…well sort of. You can opt to purchase a meal plan through the university directly. Your meals would be at the University Hall dining hall. There are options in which you can purchase the meal plan with 3 meals per day or dinners only. This is an additional cost and will be invoiced to you directly by the university or by TEAN once you are on campus. This housing is self-catered meaning that you will have a kitchen and you will be responsible for purchasing groceries and cooking your own meals. Included in your kitchen are the basics like cutlery, dishes, toaster and kettle as well as a fridge/freezer, stove/oven and microwave. In your bedroom you will have a double bed, set of drawers, study desk and a chair. TEAN arranges a linen pack to be in your bedroom for your arrival.
