Burleigh Heads – Tallebudgera Creek

Burleigh Heads is a well-known beach with great restaurants and places to shop. However, if you take a short hike around the mountain and past the beach, you will find this beautiful creek! The water is calm and is usually empty!

Mount Tamborine

Mount Tamborine is about an hour west from the coast. There is so much to do! At the top of the mountain, there are plenty of shops, restaurants and places to go wine tasting. A great way to spend an afternoon.

Springbrook National Park

Springbrook National Park is a great day trip filled with lots to do. There are waterfalls, little ponds, places to cliff jump, and numerous different trails to hike. My personal favorite was the cliff jumping because I had never done that before!

Miami Marketta

This was one of my absolute favorite Saturday activities. A short bus ride from the Bond University Campus, Miami Marketta is a street food market hosted every Saturday night. It is right off the beach. I loved spending Saturdays at the beach and then walking across the street to the market. Amazing food and an amazing atmosphere.

Coolangatta

Coolangatta was probably one of my favorite beaches I went to in Australia. My friends and I reached Coolangatta and went beach hopping until we found this empty area with no one but a few surfers and dogs. The sand was so soft and the water was crystal clear. I definitely recommend visiting here.
