Semester Study Abroad in Bangkok

We’ve just announced a brand new study abroad program in Bangkok at one of the country’s top three universities starting in 2020. Experience the thrill of studying and living in Thailand’s buzzing capital city. As a major world hub of culture, commerce and cuisine, there’s always something to do, see and experience! Our new semester program will be held at Mahidol University International College (MUIC), the English-speaking arm of the esteemed Mahidol University, and offers more than 400 courses along with comfortable off-campus apartments, a fun multi-day orientation to familiarize students with their new home, included excursions and trips – including to the charming northern town of Chiang Mai – and more. The program boasts the lowest semester program fees making it an affordable study abroad option that still includes all the usual TEAN perks.

A convenient gateway to the rest of Asia, Bangkok is also the perfect base from which to explore the rest of the country and region. For those wanting to discover Southeast Asia while advancing their degree and earning university credit, studying abroad in Bangkok is the perfect place.

Summer Study Abroad in Chiang Mai

We have some bad news and good news about studying abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Taking the advice from our staff and local experts in northern Thailand, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to stop Chiang Mai semester programs starting in 2020.

In March and April this year, the agricultural burning across northern Thailand led to severe air pollution in Chiang Mai. While smoke from burning is an ongoing issue each year during these months, this year the smoke and resulting air quality were worse than usual, and we no longer feel comfortable hosting students during this specific part of the year. We will continue to monitor air quality in the region and will reconsider resuming a semester program when the situation improves.

That said, we believe that Chiang Mai is still an incredible place for education abroad programs – the vibrant town is home to several universities and a large student population, a welcoming atmosphere and community, myriad cultural activities and is surprisingly affordable.

So…new summer programs in Chiang Mai are available from May to July! Our Chiang Mai summer study abroad program allows students to dive into the wonderful, colourful world of Thai culture, cuisine and community studying a choice of Southeast Asian-related courses paired with unique field trips around town and further afield.
