You can tell a lot by what is in someone’s camera, and this is what my camera roll looks like. Here are some stories behind 21 pictures from March and April.

Rottenest Island is pretty close to me. With a short ferry ride from Perth, you are on the island within half an hour. When I arrived at Rottenest for the first time, I was blown away. Rottenest has a few ways to get around the island, including biking.

Another Rottenest Picture! There are these small animals on the island called Quokkas, and they only live on this island. They are adorable animals and love people, and will pose for selfies with you. It is not a trip to Rottenest without a selfie with one of these animals.

I love a good meal. My friend and I found this charming restaurant in Perth near the Perth Underground, and we got a variety of appetizers. This one was my favorite; it was delicious!

This was a screenshot of my camera roll a day after my day on Rottenest, and I am obsessed with how it looks.

This picture was taken at Cottesole, a beach north of Perth. There are a lot of residential homes in the Cottesloe area, and this house number just stood out to me.

Every year at Cottlesole, there is a beach art exhibit where artists make and display art on the beach. I went on one of the last days of the event, and the picture shown is my favorite art piece from the event: the overcast sky and the wonder of ‘how does that work’ add to this picture.

Freemantle is a town north of Perth and one of my favorite places. Freemantle is criminally underrated. I took this picture at a hotel restaurant I found one night. There are so many cute restaurants and shops. I could spend days in Freemantle and never get sick of it.

Aussies love brunch, and it is easy to see why with this plate—brunch in East Perth on the Swan River.

There is always something going on in Western Australia. I went to this event on the beach in Scarborough, where there were many different food vendors. I got Indian street food; all the available food choices blew me away.

I highly recommend grabbing free tourist booklets. My friend found a winery tour with an amazing discount code, and we got a few friends and spent the day exploring the Swan Valley.

This picture is from the first stop on the wine tour we went on, and this was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

This is another picture from a Swan Valley Wine tour. Western Australia exports a lot of wine, and going to a winery where they make the wine was a wonderful experience. I don’t drink often, but I love food science and learning how to pair wine with food, and I learned a lot about pairing during this tour.

At Murdoch University, where I am studying, we have a Koi fish pond. I sometimes stand and watch the Koi fish, and I captured this picture for a digital media class.

Another thing Murdoch University has is this green space with swings, a great study space. The greenery is beautiful, peaceful, and a great place to get work done.

My layout on a study day. I highly recommend getting a planner that does not feature set dates so you can maximize the paper and space in your planner. I am an avid journaler, and I recommend getting a high-quality journal.

I am taking an event management class at Murdoch University. One of the plus sides of taking this class is that I always know about things happening in Perth or nearby. My professor notified us that there would be a TedTalk event coming to Perth, and they needed volunteers. I got selected as a volunteer and worked ticketing at the event. I was able to watch the afternoon TedTalks as a perk for volunteering!

There isn’t a story behind this photo, but it is so beautiful that it must be shared!

My TEAN advisor got us tickets to an AFL game. We were told it was a big rivalry game, and as a girl from Boston who goes to every Yankees vs. Red Sox game, I had a huge culture shock. The culture of an Aussie footie game was completely different from any American sporting event I had ever attended.

I went to Fiji with TEAN for my spring break. This was the sunset of my first night in the country.

I went to Fiji not knowing anyone, which was nerve-wracking. I made so many friends on this TEAN trip, and I even made a friend who helped me look for coconuts on the beach.

I took this photo on my way to dinner on my last night in Fiji. This photo reminds me that beauty is everywhere; you must look for it.
