Itinerary

SAMPLE ITINERARY

Note: Itinerary is subject to change dependent on when you study abroad.

Day One

Meet at the city hostel accommodation. Details on getting to the city from the airport will be provided upon confirmation of trip booking.

Day two

Enjoy a brunch before heading out for a walking tour of the city. The tour will showcase the historical, cultural and social elements of this great city. The best of Melbourne are the hidden treasures and urban villages surrounding the city that require local knowledge to locate. If you want to maximize your time in this diverse city, you won’t want to miss this tour!

In the evening we will have dinner at a local hotspot, before heading out to a show at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival or the Melbourne Fringe Festival (depending on your semester).

Day three

Saturday morning we head down the Great Ocean Road, voted by Conde Nast Traveller magazine as the top ‘must do’ great drives of the world. This coastline is truly a spectacular sight marked by one ‘Instagram moment’ after another. You will get to see the magnificent Twelve Apostles (stop counting, we know there aren’t 12), the Otways rainforest and Australia’s most famous surf beach, Bells Beach, on the Surf Coast. All the while keeping at least one eye cast to the treetops for a koala. So bring some chilled out music for your headphones, if you like, and enjoy the scenery.

Day four

We will head to the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to watch a game of Aussie Rules Football. While Victoria hosts international sporting events across the year, there is no sporting event that gets the sports mad Victorian more vocal than Aussie Rules Football. The Australian Football League began in Victoria in the 1850s, predating American football, rugby and soccer. It’s not like rugby or soccer, the best explanation is to experience an AFL game yourself.
