New Zealand: South Island Adventure

Hike across amazing countryside and glaciers, fly in between mountains, jet-boat through gorges, negotiate mazes and, of course, take a few photos! Head to Lake Matheson for a walk around the amazing mirror lake, where you might be able to see your reflection
Hike within the glaciers and learn all about the environmental changes that have occurred
Feel like you’re on top of the world as you fly through the mountains on a heli flight
Jump in a 6WD tour of a rugged alpine region where the views are overwhelmingly beautiful

Day 1: Christchurch – Franz Josef Glacier
Head to the stunning Arthur’s Pass, the highest and most impressive pass across the Southern Alps. After that, make your way down to Franz Joseph.
Day 2: Franz Josef Glacier
Today get ready for the ‘Ice Explorer’ excursion, including a short helicopter ride into the Pinnacles area of the glacier. After hiking through the glacier, relax in the hot pools.
Day 3: Franz Josef to Wanaka
Lake Matheson is on the list for a walk around the mesmerizing mirror lake before briefly stopping in the town of Fox Glacier. Moving on, travel through the mountainous Haast Pass and onto the beautiful Lake Hawea where you will be able to stop for some awesome photos! Arrive in Wanaka, a picturesque lakeside town that charms all who visit.
Days 4 – 6: Queenstown
After arriving in Queenstown from the scenic drive of Lake Wanaka, you’ll see immediately why it’s known as the “Adventure Capital of the World”. These days are yours to explore as we recognize you might want to choose your own adventure. You’ll still have plenty of organized options and excursions during the day including sleeping in and relaxing, great local walks, a gondola ride, luging, and biking!
Day 7: Queenstown – Aoraki/Mt Cook
Travel over the Lindis Pass through the beautiful Mackenzie Country and Lake Pukaki, then head north stopping at the base of New Zealand’s highest mountain, Aoraki, or Mount Cook. Jump in that 6WD tour of this remote and rugged alpine region where the views are overwhelmingly beautiful.
Day 8: Mt Cook to Rangitata
Journey through the ‘Lord of the Rings’ landscape at Rangitata, heading past the scenic Lake Tekapo. With time for photos of the turquoise lake and picturesque Church of the Good Shepherd,today is full of awe-inspiring views.
